100 facts for 100 years of ANZAC

Did you know that…

… during the war, thousands of Australian children gave up their free time to knit socks for the soldiers at the front?

… Grandpa Arnold had to leave his home in London to go to live in Wales because of the bombings?

… poppies grew in the fields where our soldiers had died, and that is how poppies became a symbol of ANZAC day?

This year we celebrate 100 ANZAC years. Our school decided to research 100 facts to celebrate this anniversary. Here are our class’s contributions:
